What is DIAM?
The objective of the DIAM eight-stage model is to assess and benchmark healthcare organizations’ ability to use information technology in medical imaging for the purpose of improving workflows, increase patient safety and improve quality of care.
The model includes the key factors needed to successfully and comprehensively implement, deploy and enable enterprise imaging capabilities. At the bottom level of the model, an organization has no electronic imaging management. At the top of the scale the enterprise is able to use analytics for key performance indicators for clinical, organizational and financial tracking. The idea is that the system uses statistics and clinical activities to personalize and improve patient care.
In between the DIAM model measure imaging IT infrastructure both for single service lines and enterprise wide, workflow and process security and integration of digitized image management.
The short summary is the DIAM allows an organization to identify and adopt the right digital strategy to improve patient outcomes.
