PARCA eNews – July 22, 2021 – Google Cloud launched and extension of its healthcare data services offering with a private preview of its Healthcare Data Engine to power an end-to-end solution for healthcare organizations.
In a press release, the company says its data engine builds on and extends the core capabilities of the Google Cloud Healthcare API.
“As we are keenly aware from the pandemic, access to the right information, at the right time, is critical to saving lives,” said Joe Corkery M.D., Director of Product Management, Google Cloud in a press release. “We built Healthcare Data Engine to make it easier for healthcare and life sciences organizations to bring together their data silos to innovate and improve health outcomes.”
The Healthcare Data Engine aims to make healthcare data more useful by enabling an interoperable record of patient data, and providing clinical insights in FHIR format. The company says it can map more than 90 percent of HL7v2 messages to FHIR across EHRs out of the box.
The engine also brings the power of Google BigQuery analytics and AI to the healthcare industry, which allows healthcare systems to analyze petabytes of their own patient data to provide a more holistic view of patients their systems.
