ACR names PARCA founder Herman Oosterwijk for Global Humanitarian Award


PARCA eNews – Feb. 5, 2021 – The American College of Radiology Foundation named PARCA founder Herman Oosterwijk its Global Humanitarian for non-radiologists for 2021.

The foundation announced the award in a letter to Herman, citing his commitment and dedication in support of Rotary International projects that provide imaging to hospitals and clinics in dozens of developing countries around the globe.
Over the past two decades, Herman and his wife Johanna have traveled with Rotary International to a number of South and Central American and African countries where they have participated in numerous humanitarian projects helping build clinics and medical imaging systems for those clinics as well as libraries, classrooms and feeding centers.

Herman has also been active in the World Health Imaging Alliance (WHIA), a non-profit organization with a charter to deploy digital imaging technologies in developing countries.

Congratulations Herman for a well deserved recognition of your lifetime of work dedicated to improving healthcare through imaging!
