Texas Health Resources Joins Health Info Exchange

ARLINGTON, Texas — Texas Health Resources recently became the first North Texas health system to join HASA — the health information exchange for 132 counties in North, South and West Texas regions.

The collaborative effort is a newly expanded health information exchange (HIE) established to enhance the interconnection between health care providers and patients across several Texas regions.

In South Texas (San Antonio and surrounding counties) HASA has connected more than 1.6 million unique patients. In October of last year, HASA merged with the North Texas Accountable Healthcare Partnership (NTAHP) and made possible bringing the electronic health records of millions of new patients under the HASA umbrella.

HASA is working in collaboration with community and healthcare leaders in North Texas to build out an advanced, public HIE infrastructure that supports local needs, leverages local initiatives and improves the healthcare experience for providers and patients toward a healthier community.
