PARCA eNews – Mar. 6, 2015 –The Office of Cybersecurity and Communications department of Homeland Security held a public meeting on March 18, 2015 regarding cybersecurity information sharing, Information Sharing and Analysis Organizations (ISAO’s), and the Executive Order, “Promoting Private Sector Cybersecurity Information Sharing,” that was signed by President Obama on Feb. 13, 2015.
The Executive Order is a framework to promote even more information sharing about cyber threats and will encourage more companies and industries to set up Information Sharing and Analysis Organizations (ISAO) – hubs – so that information can be shared more readily between government and the private sector. It will call for a common set of standards, including protections for privacy and civil liberties, so that government can share threat information with these hubs more easily, and can help make it easier for companies to get the classified cybersecurity threat information that they need to protect their companies.
